:commander: :denison:
commander: iyouwe is for when i don't mean to speak at you, and i don't mean to speak about myself. I mean we but not just that. iyouwe is a legion of sorts. taste iyouwe for yourself.
denison: you sound ridiculous. i only asked you what you had been holding back and thinking about just now. it was clear that you were distracted from our conversation. if i can be completely honest my friend, i would simply like to exchange stories or discuss whatever common ground we have. i wish you would socialize with me regularly, instead of coming up with terms and trying to establish them, the terms i mean, with clarity; only to use them poetically!
commander: common ground is crucial to me as well. in many ways i struggle to find it. you and i do the same work, although it looks quite different. our words are different but our struggle is the same. in fact there has never been a disagreement between us. i am, as always, grateful for the time you have spent on this discussion. i think that our words exchanged are indicative of our intentions and our worldview. it is best to do what feels right, for the emotions are the body expressing its opinion. and what feels right for me is to use each conversation as an investigation and an opportunity for experimentation. i consider you a close friend, of course. the joy of friendship should not be disregarded.. but our friendship exists, which reveals that we agree in essence. our words, which clash at times, are worth ironing out and bringing into focused unison because our essence is worth clarifying.
denison: - do you want a cigarette?
commander: yes of course, lets smoke.
denison: - i had a strange dream last night about chain-link fences. i haven't been able to sleep well recently. i hear cars, trucks, and motorcycles come by all throughout the night! - its only the loudest ones that most influence my ears. the motorcycles are the loudest.
commander: imagine if silence was as valued as noise.
denison: silence is valuable.
commander: - i know, but what if it was actually prioritized just like advertising and attracting attention (as in time square). imagine if cities made it a priority to make silence happen throughout all the buildings and action. what kind of a difference that would make..
denison: yeah that would be great.. but of course the city probably wouldn't actually get it done. just think about the MTA. or the government! nothing really gets done when its supposed to be public priority. its impossible to get everyone to help the cause on the basis of the common good. people will always do what is best for themselves and those that are close to them.
commander: so they ignore what is best for all.. but they protect those that are close to them?
denison: sure. people will chose who they think deserves to benefit from their resources, like family and friends. those are the first to reap the benefits of a successful career or whatever else. but its true, it would be great to have a silent city. thats actually hard to imagine..
